Milligan, Tennessee -  The UVa-Wise volleyball team opened the 2012 season on Friday with two matches in the Milligan Tournament.  To start the day, UVa-Wise squared off against the University of Mobile where the Cavaliers fell 25-12, 25-18, and 25-18.  Later in the day, UVa-Wise faced Emanuel College to only fall again in three sets this time 25-8, 25-16, and 25-21.

Against Mobile, UVa-Wise was led by the senior duo of Autumn Chisenhall and Robyn Doughtery who combined for eight kills in 18 attempts.  Meanwhile, freshman Maya Hamlett was the most productive Cav against Emanuel as she collected seven kills, three block assists, and one solo block in the three set contest.

The Cavs will return to Milligan tomorrow for day two of the event; UVa-Wise will play host Milligan College at 11:30 AM before squaring off with Columbia College at 3:30 PM to wrap up the first weekend of play.
