London, KY -  The UVa-Wise men's golf team started the 2012 season by shooting a 665 to finish in  13th place at the Bill Sergent Invitational in London, Kentucky.  Host University of the Cumberlands won the event by nine strokes over second place Southern Wesleyan University.

Leading the way for the Cavaliers was freshman Blake Blizard who shot a 158 in the two day event to finish 45th as an individual.  Fellow freshman Tyler Robinette finished 65th in the tournament after he shot a 168 in his inaugural tournament.  Other Cavalier golfers included Chris Scott, 169 and Lucas Holcomb, 170.  

The Cavs will next compete at the Mid-South Fall Invitational in Campbellsville, Kentucky.  The event is scheduled to start on September 15.
