Wise, Virginia- UVa-Wise fell to The University of Rio Grande on Tuesday night; in the team's Mid-South Conference home opener.  The RedStorm posted a three set victory over the Cavaliers winning 25-8, 25-18, and 25-16, improving to 1-1 in the conference.

In defeat,  UVa-Wise was lead by India Dillard, who posted ten kills along with Brittni Altmann adding 21 assists in the match.  Rio Grande's Whitney Smith amassed 13 kills, while Nicole Ogg racked up 25 assists.

The loss gives the Cavaliers a 2-9 overall record on the season, and 1-2 in the conference.  UVa-Wise returns to action on Monday when they host Milligan College inside of the David J Prior Convocation Center at 6:30 PM.
