Roanoke, Virginia -  UVa-Wise dropped two matches on Friday at the Roanoke College Maroon Inivitational.  In the opener, Hollins posted a 3-1 victory over UVa-Wise by scores of 25-16, 25-19, 17-25, 25-25 before Randolph outlasted the Cavaliers in five sets by scores of 25-18, 25-20, 20-25, 26-24, 15-13. 

On the day, Veronica Sanchez handed out 75 assists while India Dillard collected 33 kills for UVa-Wise.  Maya Hamlett also had a strong day for the Cavs as she posted 16 kills in the two matches.

The two losses drop UVa-Wise to 2-17 on the season.  The Cavs will return to play on Saturday for two more matches in the invitational.  The first match is set to begin at 10:00 AM against Roanoke College before completing the event at 2:00 PM against Averett University.
