
Wise, Va. - Visiting West Virginia Tech overcame an early 11 point deficit to post a 93-85 victory over UVa-Wise at the Prior Center on Saturday. David Rawlinson played all 40 minutes en route to a triple-double for the victorious bears. Rawlinson scored 25 points, handed out 16 assists, and grabbed 12 rebounds in the win.
Several players for UVa-Wise had strong days as Darius Smith scored 27 points on nine of 15 shooting. James Turner recorded a double-double for the Cavaliers as he finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Javon Moore had his second consecutive strong day with 17 points while Matt Day finished with ten points.
The loss drops UVa-Wise to 1-1 on the season; the win improves West Virginia Tech to 3-1. The Cavs will return to action on Tuesday when the team travels to King College for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
