Cleveland, Tenn. -  UVa-Wise played its second ranked opponents in as many games on Friday and once again the Cavaliers came up just short.  Host Lee University proved its number nine national ranking by outlasting UVa-Wise late to hold on for the 59-48 victory.

In the loss, UVa-Wise was led by Christine Nyobe's 17 point, 13 rebound performance.  The Cavs also received a strong game from freshman McKenzie Cluesman who added 14 points off the bench in her second collegiate game. 

Lee University used a 22 point effort from Hollie German who also added five rebounds and assists to aid the Flames.  Overall, Lee forced 16 Cavalier turnovers while limiting the visitors to just one of 12 shooting from beyond the three point line.

The win improves Lee to 2-0 on the year while UVa-Wise falls to 0-2.  The Cavs will return to action on Saturday when team plays Auburn-Montgomery at 1:00 p.m.
