Cleveland, Tenn. - Auburn-Montgomery broke open a seven point game at the half by outscoring UVa-Wise 37-22 in the second half to post a 69-47 victory in the Jack Southern Classic.
The Cavaliers were led by the sister-duo of Chelsea and MaKenzie Cluesman, who both scored 12 points apiece in the losing effort. Chelsea Cluesman also ahad a team high nine rebound.
For Auburn Montgomery, three players scored in double figures. Katie Williams scored a game-high 20 points.
As a team, UVa- Wise found difficulty shooting from the field only making 29 percent of their shots. Meanwhile, Auburn Montgomery shot nearly 50 percent from the field.
With the loss, the Cavaliers fall to 0-3 on the season. UVa-Wise returns to action Tuesday night when they travel to Milligan College with an 8 pm tip off.
