Louisville, Ky. – Officials at the Mid-South Conference released the league's annual Preseason Coaches' Poll on Monday. Entering its final season in the Mid-South, Head Coach Hank Banner's Cavaliers were selected ninth out of the 11 member institutions. Defending regular-season champion Lindsey Wilson garnered the top spot in the poll while Mid-South Tournament champion Georgetown College ranked second in the poll.
Last season, UVa-Wise finished 24-26 overall and 8-12 in league action. The Cavs advanced to the semi-finals of the 2012 MSC Tournament before falling to Lindsey Wilson. UVa-Wise will open the 2013 season on the road at Reinhardt on February 1.
