Columbia, Ky. -  Host Lindsey Wilson held off a late UVa-Wise rally to post a 72-60 victory on the opening night of Mid-South play at the Biggers Sports Center on Thursday.  The victorious Blue Raiders were led by a pair of double-double performers.  Ashley Rainey finished with a game-high 21 points and ten rebounds while teammate Sarah Gillis contributed 13 points and ten assists.

In the loss, the Cavaliers were led by the Cluesman sisters.  Older sister Chelsea led UVa-Wise in scoring with 15 while younger sister McKenzie chipped in 14 points.  As a team, the Cavs were limited to just 35 percent shooting from the field and 21.4 percent from beyond the three point line.

With the win, Lindsey Wilson improves its record to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in league action.  The loss drops UVa-Wise to 1-4 and 0-1 in Mid-South play.  The Cavs will return to action on Saturday when the team visits Campbellsville University for a 2:00 p.m. tip.  The game can be heard live on www.uvawisecavs.com
