Campbellsville, Ky. -   Host Campbellsville University broke open a one point game over the final six minutes to post a 73-59 win over UVa-Wise in Mid-South action on Saturday.   Junior Vernon Payne led all scorers for the victorious Tigers as he poured in 21 points on seven of 12 shooting off the bench.

Freshman Matt Day had the best game of his young career in the loss.  The Buckhorn, Kentucky native finished with 28 points and eight rebounds for the Cavaliers.  In addition, James Turner and Jermaine Wright each scored 11 for UVa-Wise.

With the win, Campbellsville improves to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Mid-South action.  The loss drops UVa-Wise to 3-3 on the year and 0-2 in league play.  The Cavs will return to action on Tuesday when the team travels to Pikeville for an 8:00 p.m. tip.  All the action can be heard live on www.uvawisecavs.com
