
Gaffney, S.C. - Chelsea Cluesman scored 25 points to increase her streak of consecutive 20 point games to three but, it was not enough as Limestone posted a 67-59 win over UVa-Wise on Saturday. The victorious Saints forced 20 Cavalier turnovers while limiting the visitors to 38.2 percent shooting from the field.
Limestone took advantage of its extra possessions by getting to the free throw line six more times than UVa-Wise while also attempting seven more shots from the field. The Saints were led by Stephanie Hayes' 17 points. Limestone also received double figure scoring days from Maria Young who finished with 12 points along with Alicia Brookins and Tia Williams who each scored 11 points.
For UVa-Wise, Charlotee Reasor and MaKenzie Cluesman joined Chelsea Cluesman in double figures by scoring 14 and ten points each. The 25 points from Chelsea Cluesman give her 1,075 for her career; the senior is now 14 points behind Rachel Clay for 13th on the all-time scoring list at UVa-Wise.
The loss drops the Cavs to 1-7 on the season. UVa-Wise will conclude its nine game road trip on Tuesday when the team visits Concord for a 5:30 p.m. tip. You can hear all of the action on www.uvawisecavs.com
