Evansville, Ind. -  The UVa-Wise men's basketball team completed its stint in the 2012 Bill Joergens Memorial Classic on Saturday against nationally ranked NCAA Division II member Bellarmine University.  The NCAA Division II power jumped out a 45-21 lead at halftime en route to an 88-47 victory. 

In the victory, Bellarmine limited UVa-Wise to 35.3 percent shooting while forcing 20 turnovers.  The Knights took the lead a minute into the game and never looked back pushing the margin to as much as 42 in the second half.  Bellarmine was led by a balanced scoring attack that placed four players in double figures.  The Knights also enjoyed a 41-22 advantage over the Cavaliers on the glass including nine offensive rebounds.  Overall, Bellarmine shot 56.7 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from distance.

UVa-Wise was led by 12 points from Paul Evans who finished five of nine from the field and two of three from the three point line.  Matt Day added 11 points for the Cavs on four of eight shooting.  Additionally, Jermaine Wright returned to action and scored six points on three made field goals. 

Bellarmine counted the game as a regular season affair while UVa-Wise played its second exhibition game in as many days.  UVa-Wise will return to regular season play on Thursday when the University of Rio Grande visits the Prior Center for a Mid-South Conference match up.   Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. and the action can be heard on www.uvawisecavs.com
