Wise, Va. - The annual Alpha Classic is slated to kickoff on December 27th at the David J. Prior Center on the campus of UVa-Wise. The annual high school boy's basketball event features eight teams and spans three days with the championship game taking place on December 29th. Local schools Central and Union make their annual trip to the tournament while Letcher County Central (Ky.), Christiansburg, Estill County (Ky.), Daniel Boone (Tenn.), Shenandoah Valley Christian, and Somerset (Pa.) come to the tournament for the first time. The action begins at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday as Estill County squares off with Christiansburg. Other first day games include Somerset against Daniel Boone at 4:15 p.m., Union takes on Letcher County Central at 6:00 p.m., and Central faces Shenandoah Christian in the opening day finale at 7:45 p.m.Consolation games will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Friday with the semifinals slated to tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
