Wise, Va -  During both home basketball games last week, the UVa-Wise women's basketball team wore pink jerseys, honored those impacted by breast cancer, and took donations to support breast cancer awareness in conjunction with the annual "Play 4 Kay" event.

The "Play 4 Kay" event is an opportunity for a nation of coaches to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has raised over $2 million to support women's cancer research.

On Thursday, the team honored current UVa-Wise student Kim Mullins, a breast cancer survivor.  Mullins has now been cancer free for three years and she is scheduled to graduate from the college in May.

Overall, the event raised money and awareness about the horrible disease while providing those who attended an opportunity to watch college basketball.
