
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Alex Pohl made all 10 of her free throw attempts as she scored a game-high 20 points in #14 Shawnee State's 67-43 victory over UVa-Wise at The Frank and Janis Waller Gymnasium on Thursday.
Chelsea Cluesman scored a game-high 22 points for UVa-Wise (7-20, 4-14 Mid-South) and sister MaKenzie Cluesman scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds in the loss.
In addition to Pohl's 20 points Shawnee State (21-7, 12-6) received 11 points and seven boards from Alannah Sheets. As a team, the host connected on 83.9 percent of its free throw attempts while limiting UVa-Wise to 26.2 percent shooting for the game.
UVa-Wise will return to action on Saturday when the team plays Rio Grande. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. and the action can be heard on www.uvawisecavs.com
