
WISE, Va. - Six UVa-Wise women's basketball players played the final game of their collegiate career on Monday as Head Coach Kristin Kunzman's team ended any hope visiting University of Pikeville had in making the Mid-South Tournament with a 71-59 victory. Cavalier senior Chelsea Cluesman scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as she surpassed 1,400 career points in her final game.
UVa-Wise (8-21, 5-15 MSC) limited UPike (11-19, 6-14 MSC) to 27.7 percent shooting for the game and scored 11 points off 12 turnovers in the Senior Day win. In addition to Cluesman's 24 points, seniors Charlotte Reasor, 13 points, and Christine Nyobe, 10 points also finished in double-digit scoring.
UPike was led in scoring by Calisha Johnson's 23 points and Brogan Conley's 13 points.
The game marked the final game the Cavaliers will play in the Mid-South. Next season, UVa-Wise will compete in the newly formed Mountain East Conference.
