
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Head Coach Karen Bitter's UVa-Wise softball team dropped a pair of games at Tyger River Park in Spartanburg, S.C. on Sunday. The Cavaliers dropped a 4-1 decision to Limestone before falling 7-5 to Queens University of Charlotte.
UVa-Wise (8-3) surrendered a grand slam in the fourth inning of its game against Limestone College and never recovered as the team managed just one hit and one run. The solo run came on an Allyssa Zebrowski double in the sixth inning of the game. Limestone's Leah Quant earned the victory by striking out 11 in the complete game victory.
The day's final game saw the Cavs surrender a 5-1 lead and fall 7-5. In the loss, UVa-Wise's Kristina Romualdo lined two hits while knocking in four runs.
The Cavs double-header against Bluefield scheduled for Monday has been postponed, a make-up date is yet to be announced.
