WISE, Va. – Visiting Virginia Intermont swept UVa-Wise in a softball double header at Cavalier Field on Sunday.  The Cobras scored a 6-2 game one victory before blanking the Cavaliers 7-0 in the finale.

Game one saw Megan Perry-Shifflett knock in five runs and Laura Craven strike out seven over five inning as Virginia Intermont held off a seventh inning rally to claim the win.  In the loss, Allyssa Zebrowski produced both UVa-Wise runs on a two-run homerun.  Game two was highlighted by a pair of three-run home runs by the Cobras.  The only Cav to post a multi-hit game was Mindy Combs.

The pair of losses drops UVa-Wise to 8-3 on the year.  The team will return to action on Tuesday when Shawnee State visits Cavalier Field for a 2:00 pm start.
