BUENA VISTA, Va. – Head Coach Karen Bitter's UVa-Wise softball team emphatically ended its four game losing streak by posting 12-1 and 13-5 victories over Southern Virginia University in non-conference action. 

UVa-Wise's (10-5) Kristina Romualdo blasted two home runs and added five RBIs and Sarah Wilthshire added four hits and scored four runs in the doubleheader sweep.  In total, the visitors collected 31 hits, including seven extra base hits, in the sweep.

Southern Virginia (5-9) was lead by Chelsea Hegstead who had four hits and two RBIs on the day.  The Knights were limited to just two hits in the 12-1 defeat as the Cavalier due of Rachel Hawks and Allie Gross struck out three in the five inning victory.

UVa-Wise will return to play on Thursday when the team travels to Mars Hill for a doubleheader slated to start at 1:00 p.m.
