LOUISIVLLE, Ky. – Officials at the Mid-South Conference announced the league's weekly softball award winners on Monday.  UVa-Wise junior first baseman Kristina Romualdo garnered the player of the week award for the second time in her career and the first time this season following games completed on March 17.

During the week, Romualdo hit .500 with four home runs, and 10 RBIs.  The Virginia Beach, Va. native also scored seven times in a week that saw her take over the conference lead in RBIs with 27 on the year.  In addition, she ranks seventh in the Mid-South in batting average, .441, and slugging percentage, .729.  Romualdo also ranks fifth in the league in total hits with 26.

During the week,  the Cavaliers upset #15 Lindsey Wilson as Romualdo collected three hits, including a home run and a double, in the 7-2 victory.

UVa-Wise is 11-8 overall and 4-2 in Mid-South games.  Romualdo and her teammates will return to the field on Wednesday when they travel to Bluefield College for a conference doubleheader.
