Mineral, Va. - After playing scholastically together, two Louisa County gridiron stars will take their talents to the collegiate level. Guard Charlie Elkins and outside linebacker Kevin Whitmer will join the UVa-Wise Highland Cavaliers for the 2009 season.

The Lion duo will join the Cavs who have finished in the NAIA Top 25 each of the past three years while compiling a 25-8 mark over that time.

Both Elkins and Whitmer received All-Jefferson District first team, All-Region II and All-Central Virginia acclaim. Both future Cavs maintained over a 3.5 GPA at Louisa County High.
