Chantilly, Va. - A talented northern Virginia infielder will continue his baseball career collegiately with the Highland Cavaliers.  Chantilly High short stop Danny Bates will make his future baseball playing home to UVa-Wise.

Bates was a leader on a Chantilly team that made it to the Northern Region semifinals before losing to Northern Region Champion West Springfield. He hit .413 in his senior season with 21 runs batted in and a .643 slugging percentage.

With his solid defensive play at short stop, Bates is expected to compete for the starting spot in the UVa-Wise infield this fall.
