- Evan Sturgill paced the UVa-Wise men's golf team in the Virginia Intermont
Invitational. The third-year golfer had
the two lowest scores for the Highland Cavaliers of 81 and 76 in the two day
event.
Tennessee Wesleyan outshot Milligan College by just two shots, 592-594, for the
team title. UVa-Wise posted a ninth
placing with a 676 final tally.
Individually, Zach Lindsey of Reinhardt captured the top finish with a final of 144 for the two rounds with Michael Alread of Tennessee Wesleyan and Daniel Foster of Milligan one stroke back.
Sturgill completed the Invitational in 27th (157). Justin Stanley followed his teammate in 35th (168). Sean Hensley (182) and Seth Colyer (201) were 41st and 43rd.
UVa-Wise will next compete in the King College Invitational on Oct. 5th.
