Louisburg, NC- The Highland Cavalier Golf Team had their strongest showing of the season at the Louisburg Iron Team Clash. UVa-Wise finished second in the event behind Louisburg Community College.

UVa-Wise was led by Evan Sturgill (Pound, VA), Sturgill shot a 150 for the two day event, shooting a 75 on each day. Sturgill's 6^th place performance was followed up by solid showings from the rest of the team. Justin Stanley(Haysi, VA), Blake Roberts (Wise, VA), and David Jones (Ameila, VA) all finished in the top 16 of the event. Stanley finished in a 10^th place tie shooting a 155, Roberts was one stroke off that at 156 placing him 13^th, and David Jones shot a 162 to finish a tie for 16^th place. Sean Hensley (Gate City, VA) rounded out the event by finishing 24^th with a 179.

UVa-Wise will next compete in the Lonesome Pine Invitational on October 20^th.
