Wise, Va. - After taking its last three matches, UVa-Wise was unable to make it four-straight victories on Tuesday night. Appalachian Athletic Conference rival Milligan College took three of the four close contests to prevail, 3-1, over the host team.

The Lady Buffs (14-11/8-3 AAC) took the first two games identical 25-20 and 25-20 tallies. The Highland Cavaliers (8-16/4-10 AAC) grabbed the third game, 25-17, before the visitors hung on for a 25-21 fourth affair for the match.

Megan Funk and Mikaela Anders combined for 25 kills on the night. Funk produced 13 of the kills while Anders had 12 kills and 15 digs. Kelley Bumgarner handed out 36 assists and dug six balls. Ruth Hoover contributed 26 digs with Courtney Coe added 11.

Kalyn Perrigan and Bianca Burnett paced the Milligan attack with 12 and 11 kills. Meredith Lynch had 19 assists and Morgan Rutledge chipped in 23 digs.

UVa-Wise will stay at home next for a Thursday night match against Mountain State starting at 6:30 p.m.
