Wise, Va. - After playing tough in the first contest, UVa-Wise saw one of the Appalachian Athletic Conference's top two teams Bryan College rip past it for a straight game victory. The Lady Lions hung on for a 25-22 first contest win before pulling away for 25-13 and 25-15 next two bouts.

Mikaela Anders was the lone double digit kill player for the Highland Cavaliers (9-18/4-12 AAC) with 10 to go with six digs and three blocks. Kelley Bumgarner handed out 19 assists while Ruth Hoover dug 16 balls.

Bryan (21-12/13-1 AAC) was paced by Amber Smith's eight kills.

UVa-Wise waits to host Covenant College at 5:30 for the second match of the day.
