Kingsport, Tenn. - On the first
match of Pool Play, Montreat College rode a strong first game, 25-9, to a sweep
of UVa-Wise in three games of the Appalachian Athletic Conference women's
volleyball tournament.
After the tough first game, the
Highland Cavaliers (9-21) had better games to follow but not enough to follow
20-25 and 21-25.
Kaitlyn Collins led UVa-Wise with
eight kills and a dig while Ruth Hoover added 12 digs. Kelley Bumgarner handed out 19 assists and
dug eight balls.
UVa-Wise will play its second Pool C
match on Wednesday afternoon starting at 1:00 p.m. against Milligan College.
