Kingsport, Tenn. - In the second day of Pool Play, UVa-Wise battled tough against Milligan College but came up short, 3-1, on Wednesday afternoon at the Appalachian Athletic Conference women's volleyball tournament.

The Highland Cavaliers (9-22) fell 17-25 and 12-25 in the first two games before pulling out a 26-24 third contest. The Lady Buffs (18-18) came back to end the match and the Cavs season with a 15-25 fourth game.

All-AAC first team honoree Mikaela Anders produced nine kills, eight digs and an ace. Megan Funk downed 15 kills and two blocks while Ruth Hoover dug 19 balls and had an ace. Kelley Bumgarner assisted on 23 kills while adding nine digs and two kills.
