Wise, VA - In women's tennis action Southern Virginia defeated UVa-Wise 6-3. The two schools split singles action while the Knights swept doubles play to pick up the victory. The match of the day was in fourth singles, Rachael Juhan of UVa-Wise and Brynn Hansen of Southern Virginia went three sets. After losing set one, Juhan battled back to take set two 6-2, in the third set the freshman won 6-0 to pick up the match victory. Megan Buchanan and Kayla Kilgore also picked up victories in singles play for the Highland Cavaliers. The loss dropped UVa-Wise to 2-4 overall on the season. UVa-Wise will return to action on Saturday when they host Covenant College.
