
Wise, VA - Hannah Powers a junior college standout from Chattanooga State community college has become the first signee in the 2010 class for the University of Virginia's College at Wise. The 5'6" point guard will come to UVA Wise as a junior in eligibility and join a roster that will return four starters from this season's 16 win team.
Powers led her Chattanooga State team to a conference quarterfinal finish while averaging 11 points per game and 3 assists. In addition to her skills at point guard, she will be an added threat from behind the arc as her 38% placed her fifth in the conference in three-point percentage.
The Tellico Planes Tennessee native is a graduate of Monroe County high school where she had an outstanding prep career. During her senior season she averaged 17 points, five assists, and seven rebounds per game while being named All-District and All-Region.
