Wise, VA - UVa-Wise finished the 2010 regular season with a 14-8 victory over Reinhardt College. The Highland Cavaliers will open up the 2010 Appalachian Athletic Conference against the Bluefield College Rams at 1:30 on Saturday. The tournament will be played in Kingsport, Tennessee at Hunter Wright Stadium.

Trailing 1-0, UVa-Wise broke open the game with seven runs in the second inning. Highlighting the inning was a two run home run by Brett Hylton. In total, UVa-Wise put six hits together in the inning and took advantage of a Reinhardt error. Reinhardt and UVa-Wise would each score three runs in the third before UVa-Wise put the game away for good in the fourth.

In the fourth, UVa-Wise loaded the bases with nobody out following a double by Cody Bentley, a walk by Chaz Hall, and an infield single by Brad Ricker. Tommy Meier then singled to bring in Bentley, one batter later Chaz Hall scored when Dusty Haigler grounded into a double play. The Cavaliers picked up two more runs when Brad Robbins hit his ninth home run of the season.

Leading 14-6, the UVa-Wise bullpen shutdown Reinhardt the remainder of the game; the Eagles scored just two runs over the game's final five innings. Starter Ryan Crosby earned the win by pitching two innings of one run baseball. The win improves UVa-Wise to 27-19 overall and 12-15 in the AAC. The entire AAC Tournament bracket will be posted tomorrow following a makeup game between Union and Reinhardt.
