Wise, Virginia - Tori Raby-Gentry added another recruit to her 2010 recruiting class on Wednesday when she signed Keisha Barton. Barton is a pitcher and utility player from Tazwell High School. While at Tazwell, Barton was named first team All-Southwest District while earning second team All-Region status. 

After missing her junior season due to a knee injury sustained in basketball, Barton returned to put up impressive numbers during her senior season. On the mound, the right hander posted a 9-3 record with a 0.80 era; she also struck out 69 batters in 2009. At the plate, the left handed slap hitter produced a .419 batting average, scored 20 runs, and had an on base percentage of .456. 

"She is a "headsy" player that understands what it takes to succeed.  Offensively she will bring another lefty to our lineup.  Keisha will compete for time both on the mound and as a utility player early in her career. "Says Raby-Gentry.

Barton plans to peruse a degree in nursing upon reaching the campus this fall.
