Chelsie is in her second year as the Head Coach of the UVaWise Cheerleaders. Chelsie cheered for over 16 years, 4 of which were as a UVaWise Cheerleader (2002-2006). In her first season as head coach, Chelsie lead the squad to compete on the national level for the first time in school history. In January 2009, the team traveled to Orlando, Fl to compete at the UCA College Nationals. The squad pulled a 12th place finish in All-Girl Division II.
 
She works in the Office of Information Technology as an Administrative Systems Programmer. Chelsie is an alumnae sister of Theta Phi Alpha where she volunteers as a copy editor for the national publication The Compass. She also serves on the Theta Phi Alpha Board of Directors -- Gamma Xi Chapter. In her spare time she enjoying scrapbooking and photography. Chelsie is currently a third-year graduate student at East Tenneessee State University in Johnson City, Tenneessee. She studies Appalachian history, cultural, and religious tradition in the interdisciplinary program. Her academic interests include Appalachian and African American literature.
