In 2005, The University of Virginia's College at Wise christened its new softball facility. The field is situated on the ridge diagonally behind Fred Greear Gymnasium on the college's campus.

The complex is complete with a press box, three permanent seating sections, full dugouts and a bluegrass mix for the playing surface. The field has 200 foot dimensions around the outfield.

Since completion, the facility has been home to the school's most sucessful athletic program.  The softball team has captured four conference titles since 2005 while posting an impressive 78-29 record at home.  In 2006, the Cavaliers posted an increbidle 13-1 mark at Cavalier Field.
